Kayla Kuhn has wanted to help people since she decided to go to law school. In her three years of practice she has tailored her career to serve that goal and provide her clients the best representation possible. She decided to join Coughlan & Vinel because she loved their mission of always putting clients’ needs first.
Kayla brings a special expertise to Coughlan & Vinel having worked on both the plaintiff and defense side of cases. This gives her a unique perspective on the workings of insurance companies, and how to best maximize recovery for her clients. Prior to joining Coughlan & Vinel, she spent the previous year at a Plaintiffs’ firm where she handled a wide array of cases from premises liability to insurance bad faith.
Kayla attended the University of San Diego School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Civil Litigation. During her time at USD, she competed on the National Mock Trial Team, competed in a Moot Court tournament, and externed for the Honorable Timothy B. Taylor. Kayla was the president and co-founder of The Dean’s Closet, a program designed to give all USD Law students access to free business apparel for interviews and professional opportunities. She was also the co-founder of CAUSD, the school’s chapter of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
Prior to law school, Kayla received her undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco, where she was in the legal studies program. She externed for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office where she primarily worked as a victim’s advocate.
In her free time, Kayla enjoys hiking with her puppy, golfing, kayaking, and spending her weekends at San Diego’s beautiful beaches.
